The beginning of Fall

The beginning of fall found Jay and I up in a tree, I know, most of you expected as much...We were getting pictures taken for my families annual Christmas letter, fortunately I deleted all of the pictures of us getting into the tree.

Over Columbus Day Jay and I went with a few friends down to St. George partly for fun and partly for our Anniversary (3 years). This is the car that got us there, we have had it since April and finally put it to the test, it made it all the way on one tank!

One of the days we were down south we headed to Zion's National Park, I had never been there but quite enjoyed myself. I tend to get motionsick so we opted out of taking the shuttle and instead drove up through the two tunnels. This is a picture of the shorter tunnel, I took it while were were zooming through.

This is everyone that came along: Hailey, Zoe, Nick, Justin, Jay and Stephanie

Most of the trip was spent with the guys taking pictures so most of the time I just found a place to sit and waited patiently (luckily I only sat on a cactus once)

The boys also wanted to get in a game of golf while we were down there. I opted to be the camera girl. The course was really muddy and Jay unfortunately had to play in it.

Camping

It took us 3 years but we finally did it, we finally went on a camping trip (just the two of us). We went up to Mantua to a 4 wheeling campground that Jay remembered from his childhood. Unfortunately it was bow-hunting season and we had neighbors up at 3:00am as if there was no one else around, they were loud and annoying and have since made me hate Mantua...

This is me, waiting patiently in the car as Jay loads his ipod with some podcasts for the trip.

An hour later we were finally both in the car and on the way.

This is a picture of Jay getting the fire ready once we got up to camp.Even though you can't see it we did manage to get the tent put up, somehow...
This is our dinner, it was really delicious but I think it is because it took so much effort to get to that point.
Here is dessert, Jay was much better at cooking the dough then I was, his was always golden brown but as you can see, mine were always a wee bit crispy.
This is me in the morning waiting for the sun to heat up our campground and waiting for the wind to die down so I could actually stand by the fire. This was our breakfast. Some people would call them pancakes but I think that ashcakes is a more appropriate term.

Tote

Our favorite past time is spending time with our bunny, Tote. She is such a hoot! We have had her for about 2 years now and enjoy every minute with her when she is not biting the molding or pulling on the carpet or pulling the paint off the doors... This is her (no her eyes aren't really red)

She loves to follow us around and doesn't really understand personal boundaries...

I also never know quite where I am going to find her, sometimes in closets...

and sometimes I find her in the fridge.

Graduation

I figured it was about time we brought this blog up to date. Unfortunately, nothing remarkable happened to us until about May. We were both able to graduate with our Bachelors Degrees from Weber State. Jay graduated with a degree in Business Administration and I graduated with a degree in Social Work. Jay has since been working towards his Masters degree in Business Administration and can't wait for that to be done as well.
